Uses Bridge + Optionality from Chapter 4. A reschedule creates a small warmth gap; a single forward-looking line + one low-stakes optional beat closes it without pressure. The "real thing" phrasing signals you're taking the actual date seriously.

Hope the trip's going well. Not checking in — just thinking Wednesday's going to be a good one. We never got to the part where I find out how you take your coffee.

▸ Why this works

Uses Callback to Specific Detail from Chapter 5. Naming a small specific (coffee) rather than a generic ("the date") signals you remember the texture of the first date, not just that it happened.
